Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

1 / 2

As several commenters mentioned, bring a strong 3rd pet in case Clockwork Gnome gets stunned. Runeforged Servitor, Anodized Robo Cub or Darkmoon Zeppelin all good choices.

Low XP
Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

Worked for me on the first try in patch 10.0.5 (Dragonflight). Thanks for the strat!

Sun reaver micro sentry in second slot, supercharge + laser gets the job done as well

I had a H/P Iron Starlette. I was stunned on turn 4, when Breaker came in, so Clock Gnome had to handle Breaker on his own. Third pet was Darkmoon Zeppelin with Decoy and Flyby, that handled Stickers just fine. Turret from Gnome had 2 turns on Sticker as well.

Cassandrael

wrote on 2021-11-19 15:09:52

Excellent advice. Even though both my Gnome and my Zeppelin got frogged, the Zeppelin managed to finish Sticker off. Thank you.

Runeforged Servitor is even better here than starlette since Lightning Storm as Breaker comes in really removes a lot of RNG. I say that even though Starlette is amazing for most things.

Shaei

wrote on 2019-09-01 14:31:19

Great! Thank you!
Clockwork Gnome actually died earlier than described (unfortunate crits...), but I've used a Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling in the third slot with (2-2-2), it was up against the frogy, and Decoy -> Flyby -> Thunderbolt finished the fight.

Edit: I've also forgot to point out that my Iron Starlette breed is PH, and at least for the Iron Starlette, the fight went as described in the start, so can confirm it works for that breed as well! (edited)

My P/B Iron Starlette died before being able to WindUp against Breaker.

Zamaza

wrote on 2018-12-22 13:56:03

H/P - same thing. Swapped to B/B Servitor it worked.

Devious05 wrote on 2018-12-22 18:44:47

I also wasn't able to get the Windup against Breaker, but I continued along and my 3rd pet Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling 1, 1, 2 pretty much took out the last pet.

(OP) Greeneggs

wrote on 2018-12-26 13:32:20

Thanks for the reports. I only had a P/P and P/S to test with. I'll update the breeds.

wrote on 2019-06-23 05:03:05

My P/B was lucky enough to hit the second Wind up, but it almost died before.

Splendorae wrote on 2019-01-15 18:49:14

I was able to complete this with a P/B Iron Starlette and the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling as my 3rd pet. I may have just gotten some good RNG though.

hellyessir#1119

wrote on 2019-06-23 05:01:21

My starlet also P/B worked fine, although I felt lucky, I could see it dying to early to Breaker but it managed to hit a second Wind Up (debuffed though). Clockwork Gnome finished the fight, didn't need 3rd pet.

Xweaz

wrote on 2019-03-26 16:24:27

Another crap strategy. Mostly the fault of those damn stuns, but this is far from a sure thing. Tried five times so far and all three of my pets were dead by the time the third enemy pet was down about 10%. Headed off to try something (anything) else.

aspy#1877

wrote on 2018-12-13 14:37:30

I used an Anodized Robo Cub (1 1 1) as my third and when my Iron Starlette got stunned by Breaker I was worried I would have to redo the fight. When my Clockwork Gnome died, I just brought the Cub in and Maul, Bite X 3. My last pet basically needed to take out Stickers by itself.

Tovia wrote on 2018-12-31 02:17:29

Excellent third pet choice, my gnome died early but my Robo Cub cleaned up, thank you.

Qyana wrote on 2018-12-30 06:54:55

RNG gods must have been with me as I finished this fight with a P/P Iron Starlette and the Gnome. Starlette survived to do 2 Wind-ups against Breaker, chipping away a good chunk of his health. For Gnome I decided not to go for Repair, but added in an extra Metal Fist before doing a second Build Turret. This was enough to finish Breaker and Stickers died in the Gnome's Mechanical rezz round thanks to 2 turrets being up.

Melandroso

wrote on 2018-12-30 05:19:34

If you get stunned by the Headbutt, your first mech will likely nok survive to get off the second Wind-Up against Breaker. Both my B/B Runeforged Servitor and P/P Iron Starlette had this issue. Otherwise, my B/B Runeforged Servitor worked fine.

Servv

wrote on 2018-12-13 01:45:39

First try success; my Repair got Stunned, and if that happens to you, don't expect the Repair to complete, even though the Repair debuff icon hangs around for a round, as if to taunt you. Brought Darkmoon Zepp with Flyby and Decoy in 3rd slot, Decoy > Flyby spam, eazy-peazy.

(OP) Greeneggs

wrote on 2018-12-13 12:40:30

Thanks for the suggestion of Zepp as 3rd.

Imblueangel wrote on 2018-12-22 14:05:49

I did Scales as you suggested, changed to the zeplin for the decoy and back to the starlet to take out beaker the same way. Let iron starlet die and/or just changed back to the Zeppelin to finish Stickers.

Firecrest

wrote on 2018-12-13 02:18:41

Bring a strong 3rd pet. If Repair gets stunned (25% chance), it's still possible to complete, but 3rd pet will need to do about 1000 damage on Stickers.
