Survived regardless, but the script used Surge again instead of Shell Shield when Fang came in, meaning I had to use Widget to finish off Fang.

You'll have to use shell shield with the spirit crab upon entering battle or it'll hardly last til Fang comes in.

If you put up Shell Shield while Ash is active then he will be able to cast Scorched Earth again before dying. You'll kill Ash before that happens by just using Surge, so long as you're using an H/P Blightbreath, as the strategy indicates. (edited)
