It worked for me with P/P TMD and Whelpling, but yeah bad RNG on Dusty could make things fall apart.

In 19 tests, I used a P/P breed Nexus Whelpling.
In testing, never lost, with an occasional 6 turn fight.
Are you able to provide details ?

Looking over my notes, Dusty could be problematic if the flyer used Cocoon Strike and Call Lightning. Cocoon Strike never blocked Time Bomb or anything crazy, but did make the fight go 8 turns, and of course, Call Lightning can hit hard. Combined with Slicing Wind hitting all 3 times, your Whelpling could be left with low health heading against the last pet.

This was a low probability (~8%). If this is what happened, twice, The odds would be around 1 in 156. Adding RNG tag.
